Dancing for Down Syndrome
Dancing for Down Syndrome is a joint fundraising effort between the Plano East Golden Girls Drill Team and the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas. This effort is designed to create awareness and provide additional resources to individuals with Down syndrome while also raising money for the drill team
Plano East Drill Team: One-half of the total proceeds raised will stay with the high school drill team to pay for any expenses they choose, including uniforms, equipment, camps or related supplies that are necessary to build and run a first class program.
Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas: One-half of the total proceeds will benefit the Down Syndrome Guild enabling the Guild to continue to provide accurate, current information, resources, programs and support for people with Down syndrome, their families and the community.

How does Dancing for Down Syndrome work?
The pledge-sponsored fundraiser is based on Golden Girls soliciting pledges for the total of first downs scored by the Plano East Varsity football team. Golden Girls will secure pledges from family, friends, students, faculty, and corporate sponsors. These pledges can be a fixed amount or they can be a variable amount tied to the total amount of first downs the team makes for the season. The number of first downs is multiplied by the pledge amount from each donor. Donor information and pledges will be recorded on each player's pledge envelope.

August 29 - November 7, 2008
Golden Girl will make arrangements with donor to collect total donation: week of: November 10
